Role
Who you are
- This is a senior, highly cross-functional leadership role for someone who combines strong operational execution with strategic judgment
- 8+ years of experience in People Operations, Talent, or HR, including experience operating at a Director or equivalent senior level
- Proven experience partnering with executives and senior leaders in a fast-growing startup or scale-up environment
- Strong judgment and ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution when needed
- Deep experience building and scaling recruiting and people systems from early-stage to growth-stage
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across all levels of the organization
- Comfort owning ambiguity and setting direction where processes don’t yet exist
- Experience with modern ATS and HR tooling (e.g., Lever, Greenhouse, HRIS platforms)
- Experience supporting both GTM and technical organizations
What the job involves
- A Director of People to own and scale our people function during a critical phase of growth
- This role will partner closely with company leadership and hiring managers across Sales, Product, and Operations to align talent strategy with business goals, build high-performing teams, and develop the people systems needed to support rapid, sustainable growth
- You’ll lead end-to-end recruiting strategy and execution while also owning core people programs, including onboarding, performance management, manager enablement, and employee experience
- You’ll define hiring frameworks, standardize interview and evaluation processes, and ensure we hire consistently, fairly, and at a high bar
- Beyond hiring, you’ll design scalable people infrastructure—policies, processes, and tooling—that support team effectiveness as headcount grows
- You’ll be hands-on where needed, trusted as a thought partner to leadership, and instrumental in shaping our culture, talent density, and long-term organizational health
- Own and scale the company’s People strategy across hiring, onboarding, performance management, and employee experience during a high-growth phase
- Partner closely with executive leadership and department heads to translate business goals into headcount plans, org design, and people priorities
- Lead end-to-end recruiting strategy, including hiring frameworks, workforce planning, and bar-setting across GTM, Product, and Operations
- Build and standardize hiring processes, role definitions, scorecards, and interview practices to ensure consistency, fairness, and high talent density
- Develop and maintain clear metrics and dashboards for hiring, retention, performance, and engagement; regularly report insights to leadership
- Design and implement scalable onboarding, performance, and manager enablement programs that support fast, effective ramp-up
- Coach and support hiring managers and people leaders on interviewing, feedback, performance conversations, and team development
- Own foundational people infrastructure, including job leveling, documentation, policies, and tooling as the company scales
- Serve as a steward of company culture and values, ensuring they are reflected in how we hire, develop, and retain talent
Our take
Nitra is attempting to play a part in the reshaping of the archaic financial systems we all interact with today, specifically targeting the inefficiencies of the US healthcare system. To do this, it is bringing transformational and disruptive digital finance to thousands of healthcare professionals struggling with complex medical business processes that do not align well to traditional forms of credit.
Nitra started with a credit card built specifically for doctors, and has since expanded its offerings to deliver expense management, product inventory management, and lending services. Its all-in-one platform is powered by machine learning and blockchain technologies, bringing physicians and medical clinics around the country the financial services they need and deserve.
Its vision is clearly an ambitious one, but one that has resonated with healthcare professionals and investors alike.
