Who you are

A sharp sense of how the internet talks, pop culture narrative past, present and future, and how to respond with humor, insight, and astrological interpretation
Knowledge of astrology isn’t necessary, but piercing insight into human behavior is, whether through academia, astrology, therapy, or a lifetime of careful observation
Ability to address and incorporate feedback on writing and concepts
Hit deadlines consistently
Confident knowledge of IG, X and TikTok communities appreciated
Knowledge of Google Docs and Figma a plus

What the job involves

We are expanding our social media department creatively and in headcount. This role includes work on new branding projects as well
To write for our social media and brand, we must be a responsive team that listens to the world’s cues, processes them with sensitivity, and turns out timely interpretations that thrill a Co-Star-specific spectrum of people who read their horoscope daily
Concept funny, smart, ownable insights for astrological signs. Go for weird, but be able to pull back to test for different angles
Work with and punch other creatives’ work live in meetings as well as collaborate with team on yours
Mock up your ideas visually
Part-time, 15-20 hours per week with potential to move to full-time

Our take

Co-star is one of the most popular astrology apps in the world right now. Users input their time and place of birth, and Co-star uses AI to analyze data from NASA, providing a personalised daily horoscope for every user.

Powered by a balance of AI and human focused astrology, as well as a clean user experience, the Co-Star app’s popularity has surged. It has over 30 million registered accounts, and around 25% of all young women aged 18-25 in the US have used it. Remarkably, the company claimed to have not put any real marketing effort into this huge uptick.

Whether or not the field remains so popular over the next few years remains to be seen, but the fact that Co-Star has developed a new astrology machine that uses ChatGPT to answer users' questions shows its well set to draw further interest in the company.
