What the job involves
- Robinhood is expanding its creative horizons, and we’re looking for a Creative Director, Experiential & Events to build and lead this new frontier
- This is more than just events—it’s about crafting moments that matter
- From flagship experiences like HOOD Summit to brand partnerships, activations, and beyond, you’ll help define how Robinhood shows up in the real world
- Own and define Robinhood’s experiential creative vision, bringing our brand to life through events, partnerships, and activations that leave a lasting impact
- Concept and lead high-profile moments, from HOOD Summit to cultural and industry events, ensuring every experience feels uniquely Robinhood
- Partner closely with marketing, brand, and external collaborators to craft experiences that push creative boundaries while staying strategic
- Develop a visual and narrative approach for our events—thinking through everything from stage design and content strategy to immersive brand storytelling
- Work hands-on with designers, writers, producers, and external agencies to ensure outstanding execution across all touchpoints
- Stay ahead of experiential trends, bringing new ideas and cultural insights to the table to make sure Robinhood’s presence stands out
Our take
For years, traditional brokers ruled the share trading realm, charging hefty fees that locked out everyday investors. Robinhood emerged as a disruptor, offering commission-free trading and opening the door to a new generation. Its innovative model thrives on premium features like increased buying power and extended trading hours, attracting a younger audience drawn to meme stocks like AMC and GameStop.
But Robinhood's not just about quick thrills. The company claims its mission lies in catering to "the unmet needs of the next generation," evidenced by its "Robinhood Retirement" launch, targeting gig-economy workers often excluded from financial planning. However, 2023 brought unexpected turbulence, as Robinhood became entangled in the FTX cryptocurrency exchange bankruptcy scandal when it emerged that the US Department of Justice seized hundreds of millions of dollars of the company's shares tied to FTX founder Bankman-Fried.
