Who you are
- 10+ years of expertise in commercial agreements, particularly in tech and SaaS
- A track record of success in both law firms and in-house legal roles
- Proven leadership skills in building legal teams and driving impactful strategies
- A sharp eye for complex agreements and an in-depth understanding of IP, data privacy, and cybersecurity
- A JD from a top-tier law school and active bar membership
- B.A./B.S. in a related field or equivalent work experience
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a top-tier law school and a current member in good standing with a State Bar
What the job involves
- As the Sr. Director of Commercial Legal, you’ll be at the helm of our legal team, steering the commercial function with precision and creativity. If drafting sophisticated SaaS agreements and crafting scalable legal strategies is your jam, let’s talk
- You’ll build, lead, and innovate within our legal framework to ensure our 35,000 MSP partners and 140+ software vendors enjoy seamless collaboration. Your day-to-day will involve:
- Strategizing: Build and scale legal processes that adapt to our global expansion
- Collaborating: Partner with finance, marketing, procurement, and more to support company goals
- Negotiating: Lead the drafting, negotiation, and review of high-impact contracts like MSAs, SOWs, SaaS, and licensing agreements
- Leading: Mentor a high-performing team of legal professionals
- Future-Proofing: Stay ahead of industry trends, ensuring our practices align with evolving cybersecurity, privacy, and IP laws
- 90 Days: You’ve established a scalable legal framework and begun implementation with key teams
- 6 Months: Stakeholders rave about the streamlined processes you’ve implemented

Our take
Cloud computing facilitates access to software products without having the computer power required to use them, presenting great opportunities for enterprises to benefit from cutting-edge software. However, managing subscriptions to cloud products can be a convoluted process unique to each software product, presenting the need for a unified accessibility solution.
Pax8 provides an online marketplace for cloud-based software, allowing businesses to order, bill, manage, and provision cloud products within a single place. The marketplace contains a curated catalogue of cloud providers, a license management dashboard, demo infrastructure and tools for billing and invoicing, ultimately ensuring that users do not need to navigate outside the platform to manage their cloud software inventory.
Whilst many of the services provided by Pax8 are already included in cloud software applications, the company has made the smart move of partnering with software providers such as Bam Boom Cloud to unify all management tools into a single platform. By ensuring companies can browse, purchase, and manage cloud solutions within the marketplace, the company aims to increase accessibility and minimise complexities associated with cloud computing.
