Role
Who you are
- 2+ years of professional Android development experience building consumer Android applications at scale, preferably in Kotlin and Compose
- Attention to detail, passion for writing clean, readable and maintainable code
- Proficiency in Kotlin or Java, and Jetpack
- Desire to improve Robinhood's app and codebase to ensure outstanding quality for our all users
- Strong product sense and ability to collaborate with Product Managers and Designers
- Excellent communication skills and passion for solving technical challenges
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred; equivalent training or work experience also acceptable

- The Futures Engineering team builds and operates the end-to-end futures trading platform at Robinhood
- They own the systems that allow customers to trade futures products safely, reliably, and at scale—from market connectivity and order execution to risk controls, margining, and real-time customer experience
- This is a mission-critical, highly regulated engineering space where correctness, performance, and trust matter as much as speed
- As an Android Engineer on the Futures Engineering team, you’ll build customer-facing mobile experiences that enable safe, intuitive futures trading on top of real-time, high-stakes financial systems
- You’ll collaborate closely with backend, product, design, and risk partners to deliver performant, reliable features while helping translate complex trading concepts into simple, trusted Android workflows
- Work with a fast-growing team to revolutionize finance at speed and scale
- Build smooth, stable, and elegant products with Kotlin and the newest Android APIs
- Own features from inception to design, implementation, and launch
- Work cross-functionally with Product Designers, Product Managers, Backend Developers, and Data team
- Work with Kotlin, Android SDK & Jetpack Compose, MVVM, Coroutines & Flow (preferred) OR RxJava, and Retrofit & Room
