Who you are
- 3+ years of industry experience with strong programming skills and the ability to work across the full stack, emphasis on front-end (React + Typescript)
- Track-record of building viral applications and a knack for creating moments of delight
- Deeply in love with your craft, obsessive over design details, and focused on excellence in execution
- Strong customer intuition and consumer sensibility. Deep curiosity and desire not just to build to spec but to question requirements and enhance the product experience
- Ability to move fast and adjust quickly, in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Performance-minded
- Data driven, with experience running A/B tests with experimentation platforms
- Passion for prediction markets and/or financial markets
- (Nice to have) NextJS experience, extensive charting experience
- (Bonus) past experience in consumer fintech
What the job involves
- We are looking for an outlier Growth Engineer to make Kalshi the fastest growing consumer product
- You’ll be responsible for creating dashboards, charts, widgets, shareables, notifications, recommendation systems, and landing pages that will get people excited to sign up for Kalshi, share it with their friends, or check it regularly to know what’s happening in the world
- This is a hardcore and hands-on product-engineering role: you will be building some of the primary user experiences on the Kalshi platform
- If you love making delightful and sticky products, you love moving fast, and you are excited to bring prediction markets to the world, this role is for you
- Create awe: build delightful product experiences that make our customers go from liking the product to loving it
- Make people want to come back to Kalshi and share it with their friends
- Simplify and distill: develop user journeys that promote accessibility and turn complicated financial information into into elegant, simple, and compelling product flows
- Rapidly ship experiments and learn from them: apply an experimental and iterative mindset to the building process
- Analyzing performance metrics and user feedback: identify opportunities for improvement and optimization

Our take
Despite there being a broad choice of investment models, traders have not traditionally been able to invest in the outcomes of future events. Kalshi, as the first federally regulated exchange where users can invest, trade and essentially "bet" on future outcomes, sets out to change this.
The company has launched a unique asset class called "event contracts", where investors can buy simple yes or no contracts based on whether an event will happen or not. Since gaining federal regulation, Kalshi has begun adding expertise in key areas, hiring Google’s Phil Bogle as Director of Engineering and former Nadex CEO Timothy McDermott to the Board of Directors.
The key to the company's future will be maintaining trust with users through transparency, particularly on how more complex or ongoing ‘wagers’ are settled. The team has been backed with funding from Sequoia Capital, who have most likely gauged how valuable the opinion data collected on the site could be to market and political researchers - although the CFTC's reluctance to approve betting on US elections has presented a block in the road for Kalshi's plans to add "the outcome of congressional elections" to its asset options.
