Role
Who you are
- Fluency in SQL — you can confidently write, optimize, and debug complex queries
- Experience providing technical support for a SaaS or data product
- Familiarity with APIs, data connectors, and ETL tools
- Comfort with scripting or automation in Python, Bash, or similar languages
- Strong understanding of Linux environments and command-line tools
- Excellent communication and documentation skills — you can explain complex concepts simply
- A proactive, empathetic approach to customer relationships
- The ability to work independently and take full ownership of issues from report to resolution
Desirable
- Experience with data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) or BI tools
- Exposure to infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
- Experience in debugging API or integration issues across cloud environments
- Familiarity with data modeling or transformation frameworks (dbt, Airbyte, etc.)
- Experience with message queues and event buses (Google Pubsub, Kafka etc)
What the job involves
- We serve 2 groups of customers today with the same data but different platform. Analysts who need to answer data questions about the blockchain (think BI) and Engineers who need highly reliable data queryable in near realtime (think Application backends)
- Our customers include the biggest institutions Visa, Stripe, Grayscale and also the biggest crypto companies such as Phantom, Uniswap. Allium is one of the unique companies in the industry that bridge blockchain and non blockchain worlds
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex customer issues involving SQL queries, data pipelines, API integrations and other Allium Integrations (e.g. kafka)
- Help customers diagnose problems in their data sources (Snowflake, BigQuery, Postgres, etc.) and optimize performance
- Collaborate with engineering to investigate bugs, identify patterns, and ship fixes
- Develop internal tools and scripts to automate troubleshooting and improve customer response times
- Write clear documentation and knowledge base articles for customers and internal teams
- Partner with the GTM and product teams to translate customer pain points into actionable insights
- Participate in daily syncs to discuss ongoing issues, progress, and improvements

Our take
As money has poured into blockchain projects and markets, transactions ‘on-chain’ have skyrocketed. While all of these transactions are inherently observable, actually making sense of the immense volume of data is another story.
On-chain analysis (or blockchain analysis) is a field that has emerged to do just this, examining the fundamental factors of cryptocurrencies to improve investment and trading decisions. Allium, that primarily serves crypto analytics teams, provides a range of on-chain data infrastructure products ranging from managed blockchain databases, and enriched data schemas, to real-time alerting capabilities.
Crucially the startup is not trying to deliver the whole package of parsing the data to gathering insights. Instead, the focus is on becoming a platform service. For example, the core product is a unified data platform providing general SQL access, making blockchain data truly accessible for the first time.
