Experience: 2+ years managing infrastructure/platform/SRE engineers, plus 6+ years hands-on in cloud infrastructure. Experience running production systems with real uptime and on-call obligations
Core Skills: Deep, hands-on experience building and operating cloud infrastructure with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, GitOps/ArgoCD, CI/CD, observability

What the job involves

We're hiring our first Engineering Manager for Cloud (Production) Infrastructure to lead the team that owns this platform: its reliability, its roadmap, its cost, and the engineers who build it
You'll be a hands-on leader who plans and coordinates across product, device, and security teams, sets the operational bar, and grows a small, senior team as our fleet and customer base scale
Lead, coach, and grow a team of infrastructure engineers; own hiring, performance, and career development
Be accountable for the reliability and day-to-day operation of the Hayden cloud platform. Set and monitor SLOs, maintain effective on-call coverage and observability, lead incident response and postmortems, and drive follow-up work to prevent recurring issues
Build and deliver the cloud infrastructure roadmap in partnership with product, edge/device, data, and security leadership
Drive infrastructure standards: Kubernetes, Terraform/IaC, GitOps (ArgoCD), CI/CD, device PKI and secure device-to-cloud communication
Be responsible for planning cloud cost, capacity planning, and vendor relationships; keep infrastructure audit-ready for SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001

Our take

Cities around the world are dealing with clogged bus lanes, blocked stops, and traffic violations that slow down public transit and put people at risk. It's a huge problem, but one that remains difficult to monitor or mitigate effectively.

Hayden AI is tackling this problem with its smart, bus-mounted cameras powered by AI. They automatically detect when vehicles block bus lanes or stops, helping cities gather real-time data and take action to improve safety and traffic flow.

Already in use in cities like New York, LA, Barcelona and Braga, it's a transformative idea that can keep buses moving and riders safe. The company has raised considerable funding and is growing fast, and in 2026 received approval to begin serving local authorities across the UK.
