Who you are
- 5+ years of product management experience
- Experience with building high-quality consumer products
- Experience with using research, experimentation, and data to guide decision making
- Proven track record of consumer sensibility and taste (you built something delightful)
- Strong sense of urgency and deep intrinsic motivation
- Keep sense of discipline, prioritization, and attention to detail
- Passion for prediction markets and/or financial markets

What the job involves
- As our first product manager, you will be responsible for delivering delightful product experiences and building stuff people love (yes.. it does sound like a founder’s role and that’s not unintentional )
- You will work with design, engineering, operations, markets, growth, and data to elevate our current product experience, and define and deliver new ideas to life, end-to-end
- Execute against the product vision: building an intuitive gateway into prediction markets
- Obsess over our customers and their interactions with our product to deepen our understanding of their needs (including needs they don’t know to ask for)
- Own how our users discover, engage, research, trade, and manage their positions
- Working with engineers, designers, data scientists, and growth marketers to craft delightful product experiences
- Work with the founders to establish the product roadmap and prioritize projects based on what would deliver the most value to customers
- Define, collect, and track metrics (both quantitative and qualitative) for product initiatives
- Work with growth to craft the story around our new initiatives and drive successful product launches
Our take
Despite there being a broad choice of investment models, traders have not traditionally been able to invest in the outcomes of future events. Kalshi, as the first federally regulated exchange where users can invest, trade and essentially "bet" on future outcomes, sets out to change this.
The company has launched a unique asset class called "event contracts", where investors can buy simple yes or no contracts based on whether an event will happen or not. Since gaining federal regulation, Kalshi has begun adding expertise in key areas, hiring Google’s Phil Bogle as Director of Engineering and former Nadex CEO Timothy McDermott to the Board of Directors.
The key to the company's future will be maintaining trust with users through transparency, particularly on how more complex or ongoing ‘wagers’ are settled. The team has been backed with funding from Sequoia Capital, who have most likely gauged how valuable the opinion data collected on the site could be to market and political researchers - although the CFTC's reluctance to approve betting on US elections has presented a block in the road for Kalshi's plans to add "the outcome of congressional elections" to its asset options.
