Role
Who you are
- Minimum of 5 + years of demonstrated experience in People Operations, with a focus on business partnership ideally within Customer Success & Support, preferably in a start-up environment and supporting a global workforce
- Thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment with the agility and enthusiasm to adapt quickly, tackle diverse challenges, and contribute effectively to a high-energy team
- Proven Experience creating and implementing strategies that drive organizational effectiveness
- Strong Knowledge and understanding of local legislation as it relates the the U.S. and LATAM (Mexico & Colombia). Spanish speaking a big plus!
- Expertise in organizational development, including a strong understanding of talent acquisition, employee engagement and performance management
- Excellent judgement and problem thinking skills
- Proficiency in HR tech stack (preferably Rippling HRIS & Lattice), with the ability to interpret data and drive actionable insights
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to influence and empower team members at all levels

- We’re expanding our People Business Partner team at Owner!
- As a People Business Partner, you'll be a key strategic partner to our Customer Success and Support leaders, helping scale an organization that delivers world-class customer service to thousands of restaurant owners
- Customer Success is critical to our Mission and vision: our service role models are companies like Zappos and Apple, and we hold a very high bar for our teams’ performance
- In this role, you'll align People strategy with business priorities, driving organizational effectiveness, performance, engagement, and growth
- You'll bring a proactive, systems-oriented approach to solving challenges—building frameworks, processes, and operating rhythms that help leaders scale their teams and improve how the organization operates
- As an embedded partner, you'll serve as a trusted advisor and coach to leaders, helping them build high-performing teams, strengthen culture, and navigate change
- At Owner, the People Business Partner role goes far beyond the “traditional” scope: you’ll operate much like a Chief of Staff for your business group
- Strategic Business Partnership: Serve as a trusted advisor to Customer Success & Support leadership, aligning People strategy with business priorities and helping leaders scale high-performing teams through periods of rapid growth and change
- Organizational Effectiveness: Partner with leaders on organizational design, workforce planning, team structure, and operating models that improve efficiency, accountability, and business outcomes
- Talent & Team Growth: Partner with our Talent team to attract exceptional talent while developing retention and succession strategies that strengthen leadership bench strength and support long-term growth
- Leadership Coaching & Performance: Coach managers and leaders through performance management, talent decisions, and employee relations matters, fostering a culture of high standards, continuous feedback, and accountability
- Culture and Engagement: Champion initiatives that promote Owner’s values and drive positive workplace culture and employee engagement. Leverage employee feedback and organizational insights to continuously improve how we work
- People Analytics & Insights: Use data to identify trends, uncover opportunities, and influence decisions related to performance, retention, engagement, and organizational health. Translate insights into actionable recommendations for business leaders
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure People practices comply with applicable employment laws and regulations across our global workforce, balancing compliance with a practical, business-first approach

Our take
The Pandemic caused a major upheaval in the US restaurant industry. Smaller operations struggled to stay afloat amidst brick-and-mortar closures, and as the demand for home delivery soared their margins were tightened further by hefty third-party delivery app charges. Add to that the fact that consumers become customers of the delivery app, not the restaurant itself, and it’s a development that has spelt real trouble for independent locales. Owner has set out to level the playing field.
Owner’s platform provides independent restaurants with the infrastructure they need to take control of their business without deferring to third-party apps like GrubHub and Deliveroo. It offers marketing, online ordering, and support solutions to over 10,000 restaurants across the U.S. The company has taken impressive first strides, too: they have a 7 figure run-rate, over 105% monthly revenue retention, and helped restaurants avoid millions in online order platform fees.
It’s a hugely attractive proposition for independent business owners, and research suggests it’s a winning idea for consumers too. Over 60% say they’d prefer to deal with restaurants directly, but historically the infrastructure simply hasn’t been in place to do so. With Owner seeing impressive traction by tripling its customers between 2023 and 2024, it's unsurprising that its 2025 funding is being channelled into engineering and design teams, alongside the development of new tools.
