Who you are
- 2+ years of recruiting experience in high-growth companies with previous experience in engineering or technical recruiting
- 5+ years of leadership experience with a proven track record of building, leading, and developing top-performing recruiting teams
- A strong viewpoint on recruiting processes across technical and non-technical hiring, with the ability to identify gaps and implement improvements that scale with the company
- Demonstrated experience operating successfully in a dynamic, startup environment, willing to flex between strategic leadership and hands-on execution as needed
- Expertise across the full recruiting lifecycle, with a strong focus on scaling processes efficiently
- Strong business acumen with an understanding of how recruiting drives and impacts organizational success and goals
- A passion for leading, motivating, and coaching teams – with a commitment to building a diverse and inclusive team
What the job involves
- Maven is looking for a strategic Director of Recruiting to lead our high-performing team across technical, business, executive, and clinical hiring
- In this role, you’ll design and execute a comprehensive talent strategy that fuels our growth – implementing scalable, data-driven practices to attract top talent
- Reporting to the Chief People Officer, you will be a key partner in shaping how we build teams, bringing a fresh, critical lens to streamline processes and optimize every stage of recruiting as we navigate Maven’s next stage of growth
- Develop and implement a global talent strategy to support Maven’s next phase of growth
- Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary and distributed recruiting team across technical, business, clinical, and sourcing functions
- Bring a critical, analytical perspective on current recruiting processes, identifying inefficiencies and areas for improvement, and introducing scalable, best-in-class solutions
- Use data-driven insights to refine processes, drive innovation, and test new, creative recruiting strategies
- Focus on operational excellence, maintaining high standards for yourself, your team, and peers
- Partner with leadership to drive strategic planning, headcount forecasting, and capacity planning
- Collaborate with hiring and executive leaders to implement impactful talent initiatives that shape how Maven attracts and hires top talent
- Ensure the right tools, systems, and infrastructure are in place to support a robust talent strategy

Maven is a virtual care provider that is particularly focused on delivering better outcomes for women. Its online pregnancy, fertility, and pregnancy clinic gives users holistic care. The digital health model delivered by Maven is intended to make healthcare services more accessible: it aims to support those that have been marginalized by the traditional health care system.
This means that Maven forms part of the global digital health market; a burgeoning sector of the Internet economy. Many companies are already delivering digital healthcare solutions: rivals to Maven include Doctor On Demand, Heal, Pager, 98point6 , K Health, Lemonaid, MDLIVE, First Stop Health and HealthTap. However, Maven's focused on marginalised groups is what sets it apart.
Maven has received significant funding as it continues to address areas of underrepresented healthcare coverage, such as treatment of postnatal depression. As the company grows, Maven will use this new funding to continue to personalise its platform and enhance its service's cultural flexibility, increasing its support networks across all stages of family and reproductive life. Recent examples of expansion is new product offering for personalised support for those trying to conceive naturally.
