Role
Who you are
- We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Backend Engineer with some exposure to any JVM language to join our dynamic development team
- This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid foundation in programming who is eager to develop their skills in Kotlin and advance their career
- The ideal candidate is self-driven, possesses a growth mindset, and is excited about learning and taking on new challenges
- You have at least 1 year of professional experience with a JVM language, preferably Kotlin or Java
- You are able to write well defined unit/integration tests
- You have high sense of quality code and community best practices
- You understand data structures, algorithms and software design
- Fluency in English
Desirable
- Knowledge of Spring Boot with either Gradle or Maven
- Knowledge of any database querying tool like Jooq
- Experience of working with AWS
- Worked on B2B marketplace products before
What the job involves
- Collaborate with your teammates to design, develop, and maintain high-quality solutions
- Collaborate with the Product and Engineering teams in technical investigations
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and share learning
- Contribute to team meetings, offering insights and suggestions for improvement
- Deploy code to production, monitor and solve any problems. In other words, own your code
- We are Agile and follow the LeSS framework
- We develop with Kotlin, React & Typescript
- We deploy in AWS with Kubernetes
- We monitor with Datadog
Our take
Distribution within the hospitality industry has become outdated and untrustworthy. Katanox is re-piping this issue, by enabling a direct solution between travel sellers and accommodation providers, in turn providing more choices for travellers.
By providing direct contracting, travel sellers and independent online agencies' commissions will be significantly increased, and accommodation providers can take full control of their distribution by defining the terms of trade while also lowering their distribution costs. This results in Katanox being seen as an attractive solution for these companies.
Recently, Katanox secured a license from the Dutch National Bank, enabling the company to offer regulated payment services across the European Economic Area, streamlining transactions and cutting costs for accommodation providers and buyers. AS the company continues to expand its payment offerings and build products, this development sets the stage for significant growth and new opportunities in the hospitality industry.
