Role
Who you are
- Minimum of 3-6 years leading engineering teams in a tech environment
- Experience managing and scaling development teams in an agile environment
- Preferably, a background in Computer Engineering with experience in product, software, or tech companies, especially those in innovative sectors
- Strong technical experience in roles such as Tech Lead, Engineering Manager, Software Engineer, Security, Infra, Data Engineer, or similar, allowing you to lead technical discussions within the team
- Advanced knowledge of software architectures, infrastructure, and DevOps methodologies
- Proficiency in Python , React and other programming languages, enabling development, integration, and automation to improve and streamline development processes
- A strong UI sensitivity with a focus on the end user as the ultimate validator of your product
- Experience working with large data volumes, ensuring low latency, and visualizing algorithms. Familiarity with Google Cloud for data processing, integration, and storage
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams
- Experience working closely with product teams and leadership in a tech company
- Proficiency in both verbal and written English and Spanish
- Legal Requirement: Authorization to work in Spain
What the job involves
- We are on a mission to transform the way businesses engage with customers, and we are looking for a VP of Engineering to lead our engineering team, define the technological vision, and build a high-performance, innovative team
- Strategic Vision: Define and execute Landbot's technical strategy, aligned with business objectives. Manage the engineering roadmap and ensure priorities are clear and aligned with the product vision
- Team Leadership: Lead and expand the engineering teams, promoting a culture of technical excellence and collaboration. Foster professional development within the team and lead hiring processes to fill key roles
- Process Optimization: Improve workflows and development processes, ensuring best engineering practices are implemented across the organization. Establish a scalable and agile environment
- Performance Management: Implement clear performance and quality metrics. Oversee the technical infrastructure, including system architecture, networks, and deployments, to ensure high availability and performance
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with product, customer teams, etc …. to ensure that technical developments align with business and customer needs
- Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest technological trends and evaluate new opportunities to incorporate innovations that strengthen Landbot's offering. Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the team
- Budgeting & Resource Management: Collaborate with the Finance and HR teams to develop annual budgets and resource allocation plans, ensuring alignment with company goals
- Career Development: Work closely with HR to design professional career paths for engineers, ensuring opportunities for training and career advancement within the team

Our take
Chatbots have been around for quite some time and have seen a few iterations over the decades. But chatbots can require heavy coding which is costly, time consuming and can only be executed by professionals. There was also a huge gap between user expectations and reality.
Landbot had the idea to create a drag-and-drop style bot-builder that doesn’t require coding to support custom conversation flows. This quickly proved to be popular with customers, and the company have grown exponentially, being trusted by thousands of leading businesses including Coca-Cola, Nestle and Prudential.
Back in 2021, Landbot acquired Morph.AI, a chat-based marketing automation tool based in India. This supported its expansion into the Asian market, as the company aims to secure a position for itself against competition from other players like ManyChat.
