Role
Who you are
- You have genuine interest in decentralized infrastructure, you can reason about infrastructure design tradeoffs with engineers, you can brainstorm with marketing on creative positioning and story-telling, and you can articulate platform value propositions
- Technical Competency: Solid foundational understanding of infrastructure design considerations and tradeoffs around security, performance, efficiency, reliability, ease-of-use
- Familiarity with blockchain infrastructure is highly-desirable
- Relevant experience in technical product management: Past experience as a hands-on engineer or engineering manager is desirable
- Collaboration and leadership: Solid communication skills and collaboration skills
- Proven experience to provide vision, inspiration, and guidance to a diverse set of cross-functional teams
- Flexibility: Ability to adapt to a fast-paced startup environment
- Comfortable working through ambiguity to bring order to chaos
What the job involves
- The Product team is looking for a hands-on, technical platform PM to support multiple Sui platform initiatives
- This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys any decentralized infrastructure, networking, storage, data platforms, security, cryptography, and data APIs
- You will work alongside a world-class research team and engineering team to ship sophisticated infrastructure and platform advancements
- This role involves exercising a technologist’s mindset combined while orchestrating end-to-end launches and compelling story-telling
- Collaborate with engineering on the formulation of platform roadmap
- Lead upcoming platform launches in collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Management of platform feature lifecycle from inception to launch and beyond
- Understand and stay abreast of L1 platform trends and requirements
- Engage with the broader ecosystem community to steer platform adoption, foster partnership, and gather feedback
Our take
Mysten Labs has been created with the ambition to build a blockchain comparable to Ethereum or Solanan but with even greater capabilities. That means tackling ‘pain points’ currently found in blockchain technology like scaling transactions and speed to meet growing demand.
To do this, Mysten is building foundational infrastructure for web3 to tackle these challenges and accelerate development and adoption of decentralized services. The startup is determined to build a platform that finally lets Web3 developers focus on UI, accelerating adoption, without compromising on security and other areas through Layer 2 and Layer 3 platforms.
The company is now focused on expanding partnerships with existing networks such as Ethos and Orange Comet Partners that integrate Mysten technology, and open protocols based on Mysten-designed components.
One of the startup’s focuses has been on developing a next-generation NFT platform. However, that market has come under increasing scrutiny in recent times. Ensuring that the startup assigns developer and community outreach resources in the right places will be crucial to building a sustainable business.
