Role
Who you are
- Proven experience as a Senior Data Engineer, with a track record of designing and implementing data solutions
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala
- Strong experience with data warehousing technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift) and proficiency in SQL
- Experience of working in an event-driven architecture environment and cloud platforms (e.g, AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Familiarity with data governance and security best practices
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team

- This role sits in our reporting and analytics function
- You will take a Senior role in building the latest version of a product that allows our customers to report and visualize their key employee/HR data
- Data Pipeline Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines to support the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from diverse sources into our data warehouse
- Data Modeling: Create and manage data models, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and accuracy. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and design appropriate data structures
- Performance Optimization: Identify and implement performance improvements for data processing and storage, working to optimize query performance and reduce latency
- Data Security and Governance: Implement and enforce data security measures and governance policies to protect sensitive information. Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and software engineers, to understand their data needs and provide timely and accurate support
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data engineering processes, data models, and system architecture
- Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data engineering. Apply this knowledge to enhance and evolve our data infrastructure
