Senior Full Stack Engineer, Freeform

• 3D printing experience is not required to be successful here - rather we look for smart, motivated, collaborative engineers who love solving hard problems and creating amazing technology!
• Degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, mathematics, or related field
• 5+ years of professional experience in software development with Python, Go, Java, or similar
• Experience with backend web frameworks such as Flask or Django
• Experience with frontend web frameworks such as React or Next.js
• Experience writing applications which interact with SQL databases and non-relational databases
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desirable

• In this role, you will design and build the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) that serves as the digital backbone of Freeform’s autonomous metal production factories, connecting the full manufacturing lifecycle from quoting and work orders through scheduling, production, quality, and delivery
• You’ll build scalable systems that manage complex factory workflows, large volumes of production and machine data, and complete end to end traceability and part genealogy from powder-in to finished parts-out
• Working closely with product management and engineers across software, manufacturing, automation, and quality, you’ll make foundational technical decisions and develop the software that enables Freeform’s factories to operate efficiently, intelligently, and at scale
• Architect and implement a state-of-the-art enterprise software platform to seamlessly integrate Freeform’s business processes from sales to manufacturing
• Develop applications to track the end-to-end lifecycle of millions of parts across thousands of customers around the world
• Act as engineer, product owner, and team lead — scoping features, driving pace of schedule, assigning tasks, and delivering results
• Work cross-functionally with other engineering and operations disciplines to gather requirements and solve problems with your code
• Design highly scalable and resilient systems to meet Freeform’s high bar for quality, reliability, and security
• Maintain accessibility and integrity of the backend data model to enable easy access for business intelligence users
• Design and develop intuitive user interfaces with a focus on functionality over aesthetics to increase system usability
