Company mission
To make complex data simple, simple to share, find, and understand.
Role
Who you are
- A deep, real understanding of the product at the feature level, not just the topline pitch. No code required, but you need to get why SquaredUp Cloud works the way it does
- The ability to see why customers need it and love it, and explain that in language a busy DevOps, ITOps, or MSP audience will actually read
- Strong writing across formats blogs, web copy, social, email, presentations, - we need to trust you to write in our voice without a brief every time
- An imaginative, authentic, non-corporate tone, interesting and a bit rough around the edges beats polished and forgettable
- A natural collaborator, comfortable building trust across product, DevRel, sales, growth marketing, and the CEO
- Genuine fluency with AI as a working tool, producing more good content, faster, without it sounding robotic. Show us how you actually use it
- Proof you're a fast learner, evidence you can drop into something unfamiliar, get fluent fast, and produce sharp, credible work quickly, from any source
- We're not filtering on job titles. No marketing or technical background required. We care far more about whether you can rapidly tune into a new product and market and turn that into work people respond to. If you've done that before, in any field, show us the evidence
- Prior exposure to observability, monitoring, DevOps, MSP, or infrastructure/data tooling shortens the ramp-up, but it's a bonus, not a requirement
What the job involves
- Reports to the CEO
- This is a senior, hands-on individual contributor role - no team on day one, but as the function grows, our DevRel folks (currently sitting elsewhere in the business) may come to report into this role
- It reports to the CEO, who's been covering product marketing in the interim and is handing it over so it gets proper focus
- Director of Growth Marketing - he owns the engines (website, ads, events, email, social); you'll own much of what flows through them
- Product management - to understand what we're building and why it matters
- DevRel - to show up authentically in the observability and data community
- Sales - to arm them with material that actually helps them win
- The CEO - on positioning and direction
- Growing demand for SquaredUp Cloud - turning what the product does into messaging, content, and campaigns that make DevOps, ITOps, and MSP audiences pay attention
- Improving conversion through sales enablement - battlecards, positioning, competitive intel, and material that shortens the gap between "interesting" and "sold"
- Raising SquaredUp's profile in our customer communities - not through corporate noise, but by saying genuinely useful, interesting things in public
Application process
- Send your CV or LinkedIn profile, with a short note on why this role and why SquaredUp Cloud specifically. Skip the perfectly formatted cover letter, write it the way you'd actually talk
Our take
Founded in 2011 as a response to companies having to interact with huge amounts of data with little information, SqauredUp offers business intelligence for data-driven business teams. Using data visualisation technology, the company puts data into context, helping businesses discover and share insights that drive better decisions.
The platform’s simple dashboards and easy-to-consume information has allowed it to scale quickly, building a community of dedicated users, including world-leading enterprises such as Microsoft, Nestle, Deloitte, ASOS, and the US Department of Justice.
With continued improvements being made to its offering - for example by the introduction of business intelligence tool SquaredUp Cloud, and the launch of a new dashboard - it will be exciting to see how SquaredUp continues to find new ways to achieve its mission of providing answers from data.
