Who you are
- 3-6 years of experience in full-stack development
- Proficiency in Python (FastAPI) and modern backend frameworks
- Solid experience with React and frontend development principles
- Working knowledge of Docker and containerized environments
- Familiarity with AWS or equivalent cloud platforms
- Interest in AI APIs, automation, and connected systems
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills within multidisciplinary teams
- Fluent in English, French is a plus
What the job involves
- As Mid-level Full Stack Developer at Interstellar Lab, you will design, build, and scale the digital backbone of our biospheric systems
- You will develop backend and automation services, contribute to our React-based BioApp, and integrate emerging AI capabilities into our products.
- You will work closely with engineers, scientists, and designers to connect devices, data, and interfaces seamlessly
- Develop and maintain backend services and APIs in Python (FastAPI)
- Contribute to frontend applications in React, ensuring smooth feature integration
- Connect sensors, devices, and automation layers across our digital ecosystem
- Integrate AI and agentic features to enhance functionality and autonomy
- Ensure scalability, robustness, and reliability of digital infrastructures
- Collaborate with engineers and designers on architecture and implementation
- Write and maintain technical documentation and clean, maintainable code
- Test, troubleshoot, and iterate rapidly within a fast-paced environment

Biofarming involves the farming of plants for biologically active ingredients, such as might be used in medicines or beauty products. The conventional approach to sourcing such materials often involves chemicals that harm the planet, so Interstellar Lab steps up to address this silent yet significant issue.
At the heart of Interstellar Lab's mission is the BioPod, a contraption that redefines cultivation practices by accelerating production cycles, enhancing the yield of bioactive compounds in the plants it grows. What sets the product apart is its potential for deployment beyond our planet, though for now the company's target is the beauty industry.
The company has raised substantial funding and earned a grant from NASA, as well as a place in the L’Oréal's Green Sciences Incubator programme. Thus, Interstellar Lab is placed to play a pivotal role in the future of ingredient sourcing. It has also partnered with Vast to integrate its Eden 1.0 plant research capsule aboard the Haven-1 commercial space station.
