Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field
- At least 7 years of relevant experience in Investment Banking middle- and back-office operations, with expertise in managing ISA and SIPP products within the UK market
- Experience with modern investment technology
- Strong regulatory knowledge
- Experience in building and leading operations teams, along with developing the necessary infrastructure
- Strong investigative and analytical skills with a mindset of continuously improving the status quo
- Exceptional ability to communicate and foster positive business relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Entrepreneurial mindset
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Fluent in English - both written and verbal
What the job involves
- We are seeking an experienced Senior Operations professional to join our motivated team in the UK early on its journey, a team of experts who value innovation, excellence, and shared growth in a results-driven environment
- This role might be 'Lead' or 'Head of Operations' depending on the level of seniority and experience
- In this role, you will be responsible for establishing our UK operational model, training of the operational staff and overseeing the day-to-day operations of our UK entity, including but not limited to
- Oversee Upvest’s operational processes in the UK market, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and alignment with local regulations and business objectives
- Review and enhance Upvest’s current operational framework to ensure it is fully adapted and ready for the UK market
- Prepare and train our Operations teams to effectively handle UK market-specific requirements and practices
- Drafting and implementing processes and controls for Individual Savings Accounts (ISA’s) and Self Invested Personal Pension (SIPP’s)
- Work with the CASS Officer and Product team to champion process improvements and automation projects
- Provide support for customer queries, audit processes, and ensure smooth communication with banking partners
- Keep informed of regulatory changes, ensuring full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations in the payments space

Upvest's investment API integrates seamlessly with its customers existing systems and is designed to scale easily, freeing companies from the need to develop their own brokerage and custody infrastructure from scratch.
As one of the few companies in Germany that is licensed for both the custody of traditional securities and crypto, Upvest is able to provide its services across Europe. Its solution has been readily adopted by some major players in the space including Ginmon, Vivid and ABN AMRO.
Upvest is backed by a number of Europe's largest tech VCs (Earlybird, Notion Capital, Partech, HV Capital, ABN AMRO Ventures) alongside American investment monolith BlackRock. In 2023 it closed a VC investment round which the company has claimed is one of the largest in the German fintech arena. Its impressive capital raise will go some way to achieving Upvest's goals of profitability as it expands into the US market.
