Role
Who you are
- 8+ years of experience in UI/UX design and 3+ years with proven leadership of mature design teams within a tech-driven environment
- Expertise in designing for B2B or B2B2C SaaS platforms, particularly within the fintech or proptech industries
- A strong portfolio that demonstrates your skills in user-centered design, creative strategy, robust design systems, and user research methodologies
- Proven ability to manage and execute design projects end-to-end, with a deep understanding of Agile/Scrum development processes
- Proficiency in key design and research tools (e.g., Figma, UserTesting, FullStory, PowerBI, HubSpot, Dovetail, etc.)
- A passion for thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic startup or scale-up environment
What the job involves
- TheGuarantors is looking for a senior manager to lead our UI/UX team, with a special emphasis on enhancing the user experience for our diverse user base
- This role includes managing a team of designers and is a fantastic opportunity to define our product experience for our renters and operators, drive innovation, and deliver best-in-class product design
- You will create current and future products and services, leveraging your expertise to engage customers and align with our design vision
- Lead and manage a team of talented UI/UX designers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance design culture
- Oversee the full design lifecycle, from strategic planning to final implementation, ensuring seamless execution
- Drive change through data-backed design decisions, establishing UX metrics that influence user acquisition, activation, and retention on the platform
- Contribute to future product ideation and design, playing a key role in shaping the evolution of our offerings
- Design intuitive, visually compelling, and data-driven interfaces that empower property owners & renters to make informed decisions
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including the Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Legal, and Data teams, to ensure high-quality craftsmanship in every design
- Stay on the cutting edge of UI/UX design trends and real estate technology, providing thought leadership in design and user experience strategy
Our take
Home rental rates across the US are soaring. On average, rent went up by over 10% in a single year between 2021 and 2022, while in some cities that increase is as much as 40%. Renters are now struggling more than ever to qualify for homes and afford security deposits, which also impacts landlords who lack security.
TheGuarantors, which is a licensed insurance agent and broker bridges this gap by acting as a co-signer, then offering to cover and underwrite security deposits if necessary in exchange for a percentage fee of the monthly rent.
There’s been a lot of movement in the rental startups space of late, with venture capital being poured into companies like rent-to-own Divvy and rent now, pay later startup Jetty
TheGuarantors however, has seen immense user uptake on its platform and has recently won the capital backing of Portage Venture, which it intends to use to scale both its product offering and staff headcount.
