Who you are
- The role requires a proactive, curious, and self-motivated individual capable of managing interconnected roadmaps and ensuring seamless delivery of strategic initiatives across operations
- The ideal candidate will have experience in managing large-scale tool migrations, such as moving to Salesforce as our core CRM, and a strong ability to collaborate with technical and operations teams to drive process improvements and roadmap alignment
- 5 years of experience in program/project management, with a focus on tool migrations, systems implementations, and/or operational systems
- Strong background in operations tools, especially Salesforce, and experience managing large scale migrations and tooling strategies
- Proficient in program management tools such as JIRA, GSuite, and Smartsheet. With strong skills in JIRA and sprint management
- Proven ability to engage and manage stakeholders across technical and non-technical teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Strong analytical skills to identify insights, optimize processes, and drive data-informed decisions
- Exceptional organizational skills, capable of managing multiple projects and priorities
- A track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing changing priorities effectively
What the job involves
- We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Program Manager to oversee and optimize our operations tooling stack, including major technology migrations and continuous improvement cycles
- Spearhead and manage the day to day migration of our operations tools, such as transitioning to Salesforce. Ensuring projects align with business strategy and goals
- Oversee continuous improvement cycles across the tooling stack to enhance operational efficiency and performance
- Develop and manage interconnected roadmaps that align with various operational and business objectives, ensuring cohesive progress across projects and workstreams
- Develop comprehensive project plans with clear documentation, timelines, and deliverables. Maintain thorough project documentation throughout project lifecycles
- Engage with key stakeholders across departments to ensure alignment. Comfortable communicating with executive leadership and steering committees both verbally and in writing
- Facilitate regular meetings, provide updates, and ensure clear communication with all stakeholders involved in the projects. Including executive and steering committee members
- Manage cross-functional Jira boards and sprints to ensure aligned delivery of roadmap and run-the-business items, optimizing collaboration and efficiency
Our take
Checkr addresses the unpleasant and time consuming process of background checks so that companies using on-demand employees can make safer, more informed hiring decisions in less time. Background checks are a critical part of the hiring process, and CEO Daniel Yannisse noticed that they were painfully slow, resulting in loss of work for candidates and productivity downturns for employers.
Before Checkr entered the market in 2014 with its innovative AI technology and a solid $50m in venture capital funding, companies were waiting upwards of two weeks for their checks. Checkr substantially reduces this time frame and has grown to receive a $5 billion valuation.
Checkr has accelerated growth by making several highly advantageous acquisitions of competitor companies GoodHire and Inflection. As the world of work embraces diversity and inclusion, the company announced an end-to-end service for candidates wishing to expunge their criminal records, furthering the company’s ‘fair chance’ mission and clearing 1000s of candidates for free since 2021. New products launched at the end of 2023 include Checkr Pay (providing access to payment right after a shift) and Checkr Onboard (unified onboarding processes), exemplifying how Checkr is keeping pace with a rapidly changing, flexible, and mobile-first workforce.
