Role
Who you are
- We are looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer with deep expertise in Go to join a diverse, product-minded team that values collaboration, impact, and continuous learning
- Engineers are expected to be comfortable navigating the entire stack (both Frontend and Backend)
- This is a role for an engineer who lives in the backend but enjoys reaching across the stack
- Experience: at least 6+ years of professional software engineering experience in a production environment
- The Backend: Proven experience architecting and maintaining high-scale web APIs. You've shipped Go in production for 2+ years and are comfortable owning backend system design end-to-end
- The Frontend: Motivated and willing to work in our React/TypeScript frontend, with enough baseline ability to ship features there when a story calls for it. Prior hands-on React/TypeScript experience is a plus, not a must
- System Ownership: A "DevOps" mindset, comfortable with CI/CD, automated testing, and version control
- Communication: Fluent English and the ability to explain complex technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders
What the job involves
- In this role, you will be architecting features from the database to the browser. Your center of gravity is the Go backend, APIs, data models, system design, but you'll move into the React/TypeScript frontend whenever the feature requires it. You'll join an experienced and supportive team where you'll have a significant voice in shaping both our technical direction and the product itself
- Own the Full Lifecycle: Build, scale, and maintain modern web applications where the heavy lifting sits in our Go backend, with the willingness to ship in React/TypeScript on the frontend whenever a feature calls for it
- Bridge the Gap: Design and implement clean APIs in Go while ensuring they are seamlessly integrated into a performant, accessible React frontend
- Architect for Scale: Maintain high standards for code quality and performance across the entire stack, from backend microservices to frontend component libraries
- Collaborate Broadly: Work closely with Product and Design to turn ambiguous requirements into polished features
- Agentic Engineering Mindset: You treat AI coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, and the like) as real collaborators, not autocomplete. You own every line that ships under your name, whether you typed it or an agent did. You're motivated to deep-dive into agent workflows and bring the judgment that turns agent output into production-grade code
Our take
Despite radical changes in the world of B2C transactions, B2B payments are still restrictive, slow and plagued with bureaucracy. topi solves this problem by offering businesses innovative payment solutions, effectively bringing the "buy now, pay later" revolution from consumer spending to business purchases.
topi focuses on hardware subscriptions, allowing companies to offer hardware as a service to their own business customers. Aside from providing the logistics and insurance needed in these transactions, it provides APIs that allow sellers to integrate topi's hardware rentals to their existing sales channels. Also supporting upfront purchases and Klarna-like BNPL options, this added flexibility has proven attractive to businesses, and its initial rollout includes partners such as McSHARK, comspot and implement-it.
topi has benefited considerably from its founders' experiences at companies such as Goldman Sachs, Apple and BCG. Having also raised an impressive amount of funding, the company will now need to focus on expanding its sales and marketing efforts and fuelling growth through its growing list of online retailer partner companies.
