Who you are
- 8+ years of professional software development
- 5+ years working in GolangExperience with DevOps workflows
- Notable Open Source contributions in GitHubExperience building distributed systems using microservices and container orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Experience in key security concepts: cryptography, key/certificate management, identity, and access management
- Strong communication skills, specifically giving/receiving constructive feedback in a collaborative setting
- Ability to stay communicative while working remotely and asynchronously
Desirable
- Past experience with C, C++MSc or higher in Computer Science, (or BSc with relevant experience) in software engineering
- Familiarity with bash and make
- Familiarity with databases
- Familiarity with common message brokers (like redis)
What the job involves
- As a Sr. Staff/Software Engineer at Overclock Labs (creators of Akash Network), you will have the opportunity to contribute to the core tech stack for the world’s first truly decentralized cloud service
- You will have an excellent opportunity to expand your scope and help build the Web 3.0 decentralized infrastructure of the future
- Design, develop and test of new features in the core tech stack of Akash Network (primarily Node and Provider)
- Implement resilient and scalable systems to achieve high reliability for the Akash blockchain
- Contribute to building ops pipeline and documentation

The networking infrastructure that powers the way digital applications are designed has changed dramatically over the last decade, with recent innovations including cloud computing and blockchain technology. Combining these technologies can lead to the launching of decentralized finance (DeFi) applications, blockchain networks, and other innovative digital products, but achieving this can be complicated, time-consuming, and expensive.
Overseen by parent company Overclock Labs, Akash Network provides a distributed peer-to-peer marketplace for cloud computing that allows developers to launch DeFi applications rapidly. The software allows pre-developed applications to be packaged in containers with predetermined prices and resource requirements, helping cloud-native, decentralized and serverless apps to be deployed at rapid speeds and at lower costs.
Whilst the solutions that Akash Network provides can already be achieved by software engineers with expertise in cloud computing and blockchain technology, the company recognized that cheaper, simpler, and faster solutions are required for the Web3 vision to scale. The company hopes that its ecosystem will disrupt the centralized cloud platform market, making decentralized apps easier to develop and more consumable.
