Who you are
- This is a junior role for someone with good taste, excellent instincts, and a habit of noticing what needs to happen before anyone asks
- You write clearly, warmly, and like a person
- You’re observant, organized, and unusually good at following through: you naturally anticipate what people will need and take care of it
- You have strong judgment and know when to solve something yourself and when to escalate it
- You already use AI tools in your work and are excited to use Claude Code, even if you don’t consider yourself a programmer
- You have experience in customer support, hospitality, events, retail, or office operations
What the job involves
- Co–Star is looking for a Junior Operations Associate to take care of our users and our SoHo office
- You’ll be the person behind the scenes making sure things work as they should. You’ll answer questions from the millions of people who use Co–Star, identify problems before they become patterns, and help translate what we hear from users back to the team
- You’ll also keep our office stocked, organized, and running beautifully, and help bring Co–Star events to life
- Manage customer support through Zendesk, helping users with accounts, purchases, natal charts, and more
- Improve macros and automated responses so support feels efficient without feeling impersonal
- Identify recurring issues, escalate edge cases, and share useful patterns with the product team
- Use AI tools and Claude Code regularly to automate repetitive work, analyze support data, and make our customer experience workflows more efficient
- Support Co–Star events and daily office operations, from coordinating with vendors and creating a welcoming office environment to managing office equipment and ordering daily lunch
- Notice what needs to be done, take ownership, and follow it through without waiting to be asked for a wide variety of tasks
Our take
Co-star is one of the most popular astrology apps in the world right now. Users input their time and place of birth, and Co-star uses AI to analyze data from NASA, providing a personalised daily horoscope for every user.
Powered by a balance of AI and human focused astrology, as well as a clean user experience, the Co-Star app’s popularity has surged. It has over 30 million registered accounts, and around 25% of all young women aged 18-25 in the US have used it. Remarkably, the company claimed to have not put any real marketing effort into this huge uptick.
Whether or not the field remains so popular over the next few years remains to be seen, but the fact that Co-Star has developed a new astrology machine that uses ChatGPT to answer users' questions shows its well set to draw further interest in the company.
