Role
Who you are
- 4+ years of experience with backend and frontend frameworks
- Passion for learning and growing as an engineer and team member
- Knowledge of Ruby on Rails, React, Typescript, MySQL, and Redis
Desirable
- Previous startup experience and/or demonstrated technical initiative on previous projects
- Experience or interest in financial services, accounting, and/or self-employment

What the job involves
- Our engineering team is responsible for taking products from ideation to being used by tens of thousands of users every week
- We’re responsible for everything from building the product, to technical operations (and everything in between such as getting better with outages, improving reliability, reducing tech debt…)
- Found’s Taxes & Bookkeeping Team is responsible for building simple and compelling tax, bookkeeping and payment products that save our customers time and money
- We also help Found reach new customer segments and differentiate as an all-in-one solution
- We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer that is excited to build, test, and deploy maintainable code
- You will be building Found’s core bookkeeping functionality, expanding our suite of Accountant tools, growing our paid subscription offering, and adding more functionality to our Invoicing product
- Collaborate with other engineers to build and ship both user and internal facing features
- Work closely with a dedicated designer and product manager as part of a tight-knit working group—from kickoffs and design handoffs to pre-launch testing sessions
- Determine how we will build, test, deploy, and scale features
- Write secure and maintainable code and technical systems
- Create and monitor post-launch dashboards (DataDog, Amplitude) to track feature adoption and impact

Traditionally, freelancers have been burdened with the need to juggle multiple tools and solutions to handle their bookkeeping, invoices, and tax responsibilities. In response to this challenge, Found was established with a mission to simplify financial management for the self-employed, providing them with precious time, cost savings, and peace of mind.
Established by two former Square executives with experience in payroll and SaaS solutions, Found functions as a financial hub for freelancers. It enables users to seamlessly manage their finances by offering services such as income deposits, the issuance of dedicated company debit cards, and tax calculations. Additionally, Found equips freelancers with real-time business insights and streamlines the process of making quarterly tax payments.
As the gig economy continues to thrive, the number of self-employed individuals has seen remarkable growth in recent years. In light of this trend, Found is dedicated to capitalizing on the opportunity by expanding its marketing efforts and enhancing its product offerings. Through these strategic moves, Found aims to further support its ever-growing customer base.
