Kodify essentially operates two businesses under one umbrella – Video content production with the one hand, and web development with the other. However, it seems that the company doesn’t simply build sites for other clients, rather developing and running high traffic sites of its own.
Which exact sites these are isn't public knowledge, but Kodify does state that its sites receive over seven million visitors a day. That the company is able to specialise in two separate internet niches might owe partly to the fact that it's been around since 2002, when video streaming and internet entertainment as a whole wasn’t as competitive as it is today.
Kodify is quite a rare company in a way, creating the impression of being something of a throwback dot-com business. This is to its credit however, showing that the tech industry can still be kept relatively simple and effective. Indeed, the fact that the company has grown to operate out of Barcelona, Los Angeles, and Montreal, and has never had to seek VC investment, indicates that it’s doing plenty right.
