Who you are
- Experience: 3+ years in product management roles, with a strong track record of delivering web-based software products
- B2B SaaS: You’ve worked at a high-growth b2b saas startup before. Ideally, you’ve been involved with a company is smaller, not just a big corporation
- Technical Understanding: Solid understanding of engineering concepts and experience working closely with development teams
- Tools Expertise: Proficiency in Jira for task management, Figma for design collaboration, and familiarity with other modern product tools
- Design Sense: An eye for great design and a commitment to creating intuitive, user-friendly products
- Customer Focus: Experience interacting with customers to gather insights and translate them into product requirements
- AI Enthusiasm: Passionate about AI and its potential to transform product experiences
- Collaboration: Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships across teams
- Languages: Proficiency in English is required; additional languages (e.g., Spanish) are a plus
What the job involves
- We’re seeking a dynamic and experienced Product Manager to join our team. This person will bridge the gap between design, engineering, and customers to deliver products that delight users and drive business outcomes
- Product Ownership: Own and drive the product lifecycle, from concept to release, ensuring alignment with company goals and customer needs
- Ticket Management: Write detailed, actionable tickets in Jira; create and manage epics, ensuring clarity and prioritization for the engineering team
- Design Collaboration: Partner closely with designers to create user-centric solutions. Comfort working in Figma and other modern design tools is essential
- Customer Interaction: Act as a key interface with customers to understand their needs and translate them into actionable product requirements
- AI Innovation: Champion the incorporation of AI into our products, identifying opportunities to enhance our offerings with intelligent features
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, design, marketing, and other teams to maintain high velocity and deliver impactful features on time
- Data-Driven Decision-Making: Analyze user feedback and product metrics to iterate and improve on existing features and inform future development
Our take
Sunroom Rentals is a mobile-first digital marketplace that was created to help busy estate agents optimise their efficiency. It allows prospective renters to view and lease Austin properties virtually, and helps property owners and managers to boost their profitability.
The founding team saw success with their previous delivery app Favor, and are applying a similar start-local strategy with which they hope to expand across Texas in future. The approach appears to have won them strong uptake in Austin, with leasing speeds reportedly 5x faster than the market average, and good 2021 investment numbers.
Sunroom is well-positioned, too, to take advantage of the increasing attention paid to Austin by the tech industry and VCs, with many startups and tech workers moving to the Texan city. It is a market with plenty of competitors, like Abodo, Rently, and Tour24, but many have limited geographic reach meaning there is much still to play for.
