Role
Who you are
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field
- Strong proficiency in Python or equivalent, with experience in real-time data processing
- Proven experience (3+ years) in real-time data processing and algorithmic data transformation
- Knowledge of streaming patterns: time-windowed aggregation, event correlation, deduplication, out-of-order handling, and latency/performance trade-offs
- Experience designing domain-specific KPIs from data, ideally in operational or industrial settings
- Familiarity with working in production-grade environments: containerized deployments, CI/CD, monitoring (Grafana, Prometheus), but your primary focus is data logic, not platform ops
- Strong communication skills to translate business logic into algorithmic pipelines and back
What the job involves
- We open an Analytics Engineer position in the Data and Platform team
- The team is in charge of the design, the development and the release of several interconnected modules of Outsight Shift solution:
- The Kubernetes platform that deploys and orchestrate the Real Time, Analytics and Data components
- The Analytics module that transforms the raw 3D perception outputs into actionable events and KPI for a customer and also develops specific customer oriented algorithms
- The UI/UX of our web applications (Analytics, Third party frontend integrations)
- The Data / BI module and services
- Responsibilities
- Real-Time KPI Computation
- Build algorithms and processing pipelines that transform the raw 3D Lidar perception outputs (tracked objects) into customer-defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as occupancy rates, interaction frequencies, congestion scores, or safety alerts
- Algorithmic Data Transformation
- Develop and implement logic that derives high-level information from low-level event streams in real time
- This can for instance consist in detecting the queues in an airport or the airport staff from the passengers flow
- Support the deployment and operation of your services in a Kubernetes-based environment, ensuring resilience, scalability, and observability
Our take
Outsight has combined the software assets of its parent company Dibotics with 3D sensor technology to create a LiDAR pre-processor designed to help make smarter, safer vehicles, and add spatial AI to buildings like stores and airports. Importantly, however, Outsight’s business model is focused on providing a simpler plug-and-play LiDAR solution, to close the gap between LiDAR early adopters and the mainstream market.
Helping more companies easily tap into LiDAR’s full situational awareness capabilities in our growing network of interconnected, smart environments is likely to prove a winning strategy for Outsight going forward. Outsight has already proven attractive to international clients across a number of highly lucrative fields including industrial automation, driverless cars, and drones.
Outsight has carved out a niche for itself, attracting a solid client base as the industry embraces new technologies. In a significant development, the company was acquired by Billups, a leading NYC-based OOH managed services agency, in a deal that expanded Billups' global presence to 16 countries. This acquisition strengthens Outsight's industrial edge and cloud application offerings, opening up exciting new opportunities for growth nad innovation within the company.
