Role

Who you are

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience at companies with 10 or more developers (consumer-facing environments a plus)
  • Experience designing and building dynamic, interactive, cross-browser frontend applications (proficiency in React and Typescript is a plus)
  • Experience in creating robust, performant backend services and APIs, with a strong understanding of server-side languages and frameworks (competence in Python, Django, and Postgres is a plus)
  • Understanding of cloud hosting offerings and experience deploying and managing secure, scalable cloud infrastructure components (knowledge of Azure, Docker, and Terraform is a plus)
  • Proficiency using IDEs (PyCharm or Visual Studio), support tools (code analysis AI, log analyzers), and colleagues (us!) to debug quickly and deploy rapidly
  • Commitment to Nexamp's mission and have a passion for solving tomorrow's climate crisis today
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond your organization
  • Experience in showcasing initiative to make improvements to current work, processes, products, and services across the organization. We value accountability and an ownership mentality
  • Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify the root causes of problems, and present creative solutions
  • Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty across the industry
  • Eagerness to develop a fundamental understanding of how Nexamp operates and then apply that knowledge effectively to inform business decisions

  • We're on the hunt for a dedicated Senior Backend Software Developer to champion our creation of tech solutions for sustainability
  • As a vital member of the team, you'll be pivotal in evolving our customer-facing products, crafting significant amounts of high-quality code, steering projects from conception to completion, refining our processes, and guiding the next wave of talent
  • Report to the Tech Lead
  • Deliver value: Internalize our OKRs and orient your work around measurable results
  • Write code: Design, implement, and deploy reliable and efficient production software in React and Python
  • Stay agile: Be active in our sprint planning, execution, and reflection Scrum processes
  • Grow others: Guide junior developers across the org through mentorship and collaborative creativity
  • Grow yourself: Continually seek ways to up-level your own skills; inspire and cross-train your colleagues
