Role
Who you are
- You naturally think about problems from the user’s perspective, always pushing to understand the ‘why’ and designing data solutions that truly solve business challenges
- You can bridge the gap between technical and non-technical teams listening, translating requirements, and delivering insights that resonate across all levels of the organization
- You confidently write and optimize SQL queries, converting complex business logic into dbt models
- You can design, build, and maintain intuitive, action-oriented dashboards that translate complex data into clear, compelling visual stories for stakeholders.
- You approach business queries with curiosity and rigour, digging deep into the data to provide not just answers, but actionable recommendations that inform strategic decisions
- You are a data evangelist, promoting the power of data driven decision making wherever you go.

What the job involves
- At tem., data is at the heart of our product RED (Renewable Energy Direct), driving all the key decisions and processes
- Engage with the whole of tem. to clarify their data needs, translating these into well-defined analytics requests
- Design, build, and maintain intuitive dashboards that present complex data as compelling visual stories, enabling stakeholders to easily understand and act on insights
- Dive into diverse datasets uncovering trends, identifying root causes, and generating insights that directly influence decision-making and drive growth
- Use SQL and dbt to transform raw data into structured, analytics-ready datasets that accurately reflect business rules and priorities
- Push for better processes, tools, and data strategies, ensuring that our analytics capabilities evolve alongside the business’s changing needs
- You will join our rockstar analytics engineer as our second analytics hire and help shape the future of analytics at tem

Our take
Tem is a next-gen energy transactions company that changes the way renewable energy is bought, sold and powered. Rebalancing the playing field away from "Big Energy", tem creates affordable, traceable and smart energy transaction management tools.
The company is still in its early stages, but it looks set to provide businesses and consumers access to the same financial benefits as Big Energy companies by distributing its own purchased energy to customers. Once they’re signed up, customers are matched with a suitable generator, and the tem platform helps execute contracts, take payments, and manage invoicing.
This is a truly disruptive concept - and could prove to be a successful one. Whilst UK consumers are notoriously hesitant to switch providers, recent soaring energy prices could lure many into giving it a go.
tem is going to get a run for it’s money, though. A similar platform in the US, Tesseract, is slated for launch around the same time, and with an ex-Revolut founder and handsome funding under its belt, is generating real buzz.

- Core hours are from 10:00-16:00 and 10:00-13:00 on Fridays (UK time). This is the time when meetings take place. We try to work asynchronously to avoid meeting creep. As an Individual Contributor, expect to spend around 2-3 hours in recurring meetings each week. As a People Leader, expect to spend 1 hour with each team member every two weeks, along with 3 hours per week in recurring meetings. If you don't have any meetings on a Friday afternoon and have wrapped up everything for the week, take the afternoon off! Note: If you’re in a customer-facing team like Commercial, we still want to speak to our customers and offer an exceptional service. We will create flexibility within the team, wherever possible.
