• Solid technical background, with experience designing scalable data architectures, a firm understanding of modern data warehousing and the analytics stack, and SQL proficiency

• A team-player mindset, both within the CSA team as we evolve our ways of working and in daily collaboration with AEs and SEs

Desirable

• The Customer Solutions Architect (CSA) is the primary post-sales technical owner for our existing customers, helping them get the most value from the combined Fivetran and dbt platform. Working alongside Account Executives (AEs) and Solutions Engineers (SEs), the CSA makes sure customers not only deploy successfully, but keep scaling and expanding their usage over time
• This role operates as a technical account manager and strategic advisor, bridging the gap between onboarding success and long-term growth. The CSA owns the technical narrative after go-live: monitoring an existing book of business, leading technical discussions, uncovering new data challenges, and guiding customers through architecture evolution, adoption, and expansion through live demos and technical workshops
• Unlike implementation-focused roles, the CSA is accountable for both retention and growth, and is measured on incremental ARR, Net Revenue Retention (NRR), and Gross Revenue Retention (GRR). You will act as a trusted advisor, advocate, and accelerator, ensuring customers derive maximum value from their data investments while aligning their technical roadmap with the platform's capabilities
• Own post-sales technical engagement across a portfolio of assigned Commercial and Enterprise accounts
• Drive adoption, optimization, and ongoing usage of the platform, moving customers from initial deployment to sustained, scalable success
• Educate customers on new products and features as they launch, and on existing capabilities they may not be using
• Deliver enablement sessions, workshops, and best-practice guidance
• Monitor account health signals (usage, performance, support trends) and proactively intervene to address churn or contraction risks, including running implementation reviews and healthcheck sessions
• Identify, validate, and execute expansion opportunities across business units, regions, and use cases, including opportunities to bring both Fivetran and dbt into an account
• Translate customer initiatives into scalable data workloads and technical solutions
• Partner with AEs to drive incremental ARR through structured expansion plays and a managed expansion pipeline
• Lead technical validation of new workloads, including workshops and, where necessary, proofs of concept (POCs)
• Replicate successful use cases across the organization to accelerate growth
• Provide strategic input on the customer lifecycle and renewals process
• Define and maintain Enterprise Reference Architectures aligned to customer environments, ensuring architectural consistency and scalability across implementations
• Guide customers on best practices for data pipelines, transformation, automation, and platform adoption
• Maintain technical artifacts such as architecture documentation, design patterns, and knowledge bases
• Build and maintain strong relationships with technical, operational, and executive stakeholders, using stakeholder maps and multi-threaded engagement strategies
• Run regular technical cadence calls, business reviews, and roadmap sessions
• Contribute to Mutual Account Plans and own Mutual Success Plans, mapping whitespace opportunities across business units, subsidiaries, and use cases
• Align customer technical strategy with business objectives and commercial plans
• Act as the technical orchestrator across Sales, Professional Services, Product, and Engineering, keeping delivery teams aligned with long-term expansion strategy
• Advocate for customer needs internally, influencing the product roadmap and priorities
• Collaborate with technology partners (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, GCP) to drive joint value
• Help improve team processes, refine assets, and enable teammates through our knowledge-sharing loop
• Contribute to and deliver external-facing content through live events, speaking engagements, blog posts, recorded tutorials, or other educational resources
• Work closely with Regional and Product Marketing teams to support field and industry events
• Support senior leadership in aligning field and industry requirements with the product roadmap, collaborating with Product and Product Marketing under their guidance
• Technologies You’ll Use:
• Databases: SAP HANA, Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres
• Data platforms: Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift
• Products: Fivetran, dbt platform
• Languages: SQL, Python, bash or PowerShell
