Backend Engineer, SINAI

• At least 2 years of professional experience as a Backend Engineer or in a backend focused role
• Strong experience writing backend software with tools like Node.js, TypeScript, and Relational Databases(e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL)
• Production experience designing and implementing APIs using GraphQL or REST
• Experience building scalable, reliable systems, with a strong understanding of performance optimization
• Familiarity with modern software development practices, such as CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a data-driven approach to building software
• Written and verbal proficiency in the English language
• Familiarity with Observability tools such as DataDog, Prometheus, or similar
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures and message queues (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka)

Desirable

• As a Backend Engineer at SINAI, you will design, implement, and maintain the core services and APIs that power our platform. You’ll play a key role in building scalable, high-performance backend systems to support customer-facing features. You’ll collaborate closely with Fullstack Engineers, Product Managers, Product Designers, and other team members to solve customer challenges
• In this fast-paced, dynamic environment, you’ll balance creative design with strategic thinking, helping shape products that enable our customers to achieve their decarbonization goals
• Design, implement, and maintain backend services that power SINAI's customer-facing platform
• Architect and build APIs and data pipelines using a modern TypeScript and Apollo GraphQL technology stack
• Write clean, reusable, and extensible backend code, following test-driven development and best practices
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Fullstack Engineers to design systems that meet product requirements and business needs
• Ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability by optimizing backend systems and resolving bottlenecks
• Contribute to technical leadership across the Engineering team and provide mentorship to other engineers
