Role
Who you are
- Have 5+ years of experience in full life cycle technical recruiting supporting technical, AI, and/or research teams
- Have experience hiring frontier AI researchers, technical staff, and engineers working on other frontier problems (from LLMs to multimodal AI to robotics)
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand and evaluate technical qualifications across software engineering, data engineering, and machine learning
- Have a passion for AI's potential to positively impact the world, and proactively learn and stay up to date on current technologies by interacting with research communities
- Want to build something: you're experimental with creative recruiting ideas and open to building systems for recruiting automation, sourcing analytics, or AI-assisted recruiting workflows
- Bring an existing network in the NYC technical and research community
What the job involves
- You will build the talent function alongside our Head of Talent and own the full recruiting cycle end to end, from sourcing strategy through close
- You'll design, implement, and run the processes and programs the rest of the talent team works from: interview processes, targeted recruiting campaigns, relationships with industry leaders, and long-term talent pools
- You'll partner directly with our research and engineering leaders to identify, engage, and win the people who will define what we build next: frontier AI researchers, technical staff, and engineers working on frontier problems in world models and embodied intelligence
- You'll go deep with hiring managers on hiring needs, team matching, and required qualifications, own a stellar candidate experience throughout, and play a significant role in selling and winning the candidate
- You'll use the latest technology, especially AI agents, to take friction out of the function, from data-driven sourcing to automated outreach sequences, scheduling, note-taking, and feedback collection
- You'll build the employer brands of General Intuition and Medal in the technical, research, and science communities, organize and attend the events where that talent is, and look for the unusual, high-alpha ideas nobody else is running
Our take
Video games have become highly social experiences due to multiplayer gaming, eSports and social media, spawning a huge market for audiences who enjoy watching gaming-related video content. Gamers commonly stream games and edit the footage to produce memes and engage with friends, but this requires many software tools and a separate platform on which to share experiences.
Medal provides a social platform for gaming video clips. It allows users to record and edit footage, make gaming memes, and share content with friends from one place. While the company competes with platform giants like Twitch, it stands out by being specifically designed for gaming content. It also collects in-game data to mitigate cheating and cyberbullying, and integrates directly into any Windows or Android game.
In 2025, Medal spun out "General Intuition", and has since been hiring to both its own and the new company's team. General Intuition's mission is to build a new class of models that can perceive, predict and act in both virtual and physical environments. It is leveraging Medal's vast datasets to this end, reducing the limitations on machine intelligence by training AI on interaction and exploration rather than just written words.
