Who you are
- Desire to work in a result-oriented, dynamic fast growth environment
- Track record of success in one or more of the following focus areas: FP&A, Investment Banking, CFO advisory or consulting background, with 4+ years of experience

- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or similar field

What the job involves
- The Senior Analyst reports to the Director of Finance and Senior Manager, Cloud Finance, to support the Finance team in a variety of corporate finance initiatives to solve critical finance, strategy, and operations related problems across the organization
- The role offers a unique ability to work across teams to see how a fast-growing business operates and is a great platform to learn how to operationalize change at scale
- Crusoe is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to support the growing Crusoe Cloud organizational needs. This position is a highly visible role that interacts regularly with executive management
- The candidate will be involved in various initiatives centered around short and long term financial planning, capital budgeting, and creating materials to present key operational and financial metrics to the Leadership Team and Board of Directors. Depending on the individual’s abilities and organizational needs, you will also be involved with capital raises, corporate strategy, and investor relations
- The Senior Analyst will use their advanced excel modeling skills, strategic style, and cross functional expertise to:
- Design and update models (ranging in complexity) for project development, financing transactions, internal forecasting and to enable corporate planning and budgeting
- Perform sensitivity and scenario analysis, to produce outputs for external and internal purposes
- Maintain and update robust Excel cash flow models across project, entity and corporate levels, including re-forecasting across both weekly and monthly 5-year plan
- Perform analytical review and variance analysis of internal models against historical data and trends, to evaluate financial & operational performance
- Lead external and internal due diligence processes for project development and debt raise processes, supporting various areas of the business
- Provide analytical support on key projects and initiatives, and produce tools to analyze specific business opportunities
- Produce clear and articulate marketing material such as teasers and presentations
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Accounting, Digital Infrastructure and Cloud operations teams to ensure Finance model assumptions reflect latest assumptions
- Create new models based on ad hoc transactions across the business segments and business needs
- Support finance efforts to add value to business partners across the organization, including data analysis, tracking, and reporting on operating metrics & KPIs
- Support Finance team in day-to-day tasks, including implementing various financial analyses, forecast and budget processes, and preparing relevant deliverables
- Mentor and train junior staff
- Perform ad-hoc tasks as needed
Our take
Methane, that is mostly generated by flaring in the oil and gas industry, is a major contributor to global warming - as are the carbon emissions produced by global computing (especially bitcoin mining.) Crusoe Energy Systems reduces flaring, and repurposes waste natural gas into energy for these processes, thus removing methane from the atmosphere and simultaneously reducing the carbon footprint of computing.
Crusoe's mobile data centers can be deployed to generate power from methane waste at its source. As well as its patented Digital Flare Mitigation system, Crusoe is also working to enable alternative revenue streams for renewable and clean energy projects, with the ultimate aim to run data centers on renewable energy.
The company has connections with Kraken Oil & Gas, Devon Energy, Enerplus, and more; and its computing power is used by institutes such as MIT. The rising pressure to take action on climate change, coupled with the need for high-energy computing as more infrastructure moves online, has placed it in a massive industry. With the capability of its systems to reduce the equivalent of 8,000 tonnes per year of CO2 and 2023 debt financing amounting to $200 million in investment, Crusoe Energy Systems is well positioned to make an impact and drive for further success.
