Role
Who you are
- Hands-on experience building AI automations in a professional setting, typically 1 to 2 years
- Proof that you ship: you can show us at least one automation you built end-to-end, describe the impact and explain how it handles errors
- Experience running a website is a plus: publishing and updating content in a CMS
- Experience in SEO/GEO or CRO optimization is a plus
- Experience in a high-growth environment where you built with limited documentation is a plus
- Strong working expertise with Claude, including building use cases beyond prompting
- Workflow automation with n8n or a comparable tool such as Make or Zapier
- API integration: REST, webhooks and authentication
- Accuracy and safety: you build checks, logging and review steps into every automation
- Working knowledge of MCP, GitHub and basic JavaScript or Python is a plus
- The Owner: you take full accountability for your projects, from the first workflow to the final output
- The Experimentalist: you enjoy figuring things out when there is no manual
- The Quality Advocate: you prefer a robust, lasting solution over a quick one-off hack
- English spoken and written. German is a plus
- Research shows that candidates from underrepresented backgrounds may refrain from applying for positions if they feel they don't meet all qualifications. We strongly encourage you to apply if you’re interested: we're excited to discover how your distinctive experience can enhance our team!
What the job involves
- Do you enjoy turning repetitive tasks into seamless AI automations? Are you driven by finding hidden opportunities data couldn't unlock before? Do you want to build AI use cases for a Marketing team that has already started its AI journey?
- At GotPhoto you join a company that is advanced in its AI journey. You work with peers across Product, Tech, Design and Data who speak your language. You build automations that your colleagues use every day, and you grow with the scope as it expands
- Phase 1: High-Impact Projects & Workflow Foundation (First Months)
- In your initial phase, you will combine strategic project ownership with AI workflow automation. You will gather a long list of potential use cases with the team, prioritize them using clear impact metrics, and dive straight into two key anchor projects:
- Discovery & Mapping: Work closely with the marketing team to map out further potential AI use cases across content, acquisition, operations, and campaign analytics
- Evaluation & Prioritization: Apply a structured evaluation matrix (measuring efficiency gain, effort, and business impact) to pick high-value quick wins
- Build, Automate & Measure: Build structured workflows, clean up tool knowledge bases, measure performance, and document processes for seamless handover and adoption by colleagues
- Anchor Project 1: Website Rebuild & Full Ownership: Take direct ownership of the GotPhoto website. You will lead the rebuild project from a marketing perspective, leveraging modern AI tools for copy generation, structure planning, SEO/GEO optimization, and content deployment
- Anchor Project 2: AI-Driven Design Workflows: Automate and streamline our visual asset creation. You will implement generative AI design workflows (e.g., using tools for visual asset generation, localization, scaling banner creation, or brand asset management) to elevate our creative output and reduce manual designer effort
- Phase 2: Growth & Scaling (Your Path Forward)
- As you establish our AI design pipelines, maintain the rebuilt website, and master our marketing stack, your role will expand along a dedicated growth trajectory:
- Strategic AI Ownership: Shift from initial workflow setups to owning end-to-end AI initiatives across complex multi-channel marketing campaigns
- Advanced Architecture & Custom Automation: Lead the optimization of centralized team knowledge bases, custom GPTs, and sophisticated multi-agent or API-based automations (e.g., using Make, n8n, or custom scripts)
- Enablement & Community: Become the core AI ambassador within marketing, driving up team-wide AI literacy, establishing prompt engineering standards, and collaborating with cross-functional AI peers across GotPhoto
- Website Optimization & Web Operations: Evolve from web manager to growth operator, using AI-driven A/B testing, dynamic personalization, and automated conversion rate optimization (CRO)
Our take
Taking professional photos for events and schools is as much an exercise in administration as it is in photography, with a gruelling and largely manual workload of organising photos, taking payments and shipping out prints eating into a photographer's time. GotPhoto exists to make this process much easier, automating promotions, sales and fulfillment, freeing the photographer to focus on their core business.
Considered the leader in its market, GotPhoto has amassed a customer base of about 4000 small-medium business and sole trader clients across the UK, US and DACH regions. While the company has had strong growth in recent years it still has a large market to grow into, with a core market that grows year on year as more photographers look into automation for their businesses.
GotPhoto was acquired by EQT Growth in 2023, providing investment for the platform's development and the addition of new features. This sets up the company to be able to tap its parent's commercial connections as it aims to grow its lead in an estimated $5 billion market.
