Staff Engineer, Fastly

• At least 7 years of related engineering experience, preferably building large distributed systems
• Strong proficiency in Go (Golang), with a proven ability to design and develop scalable, high-performance, and secure APIs
• Strong understanding of service-to-service authentication and secure communication protocols
• Familiarity with modern development practices, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and microservices architecture
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and comprehensive documentation
• A collaborative mindset with experience working across cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and innovation
• Proven ability to mentor and support the growth of engineers, both within a specific area of expertise and more broadly

• You'll play a key role in building secure, scalable solutions that seamlessly empower organizations to manage user identities, access control, and authentication
• Our team is dedicated to delivering innovative, user-friendly experiences that enhance security while simplifying identity managemen
• Lead the design, development, and deployment of APIs and applications within our Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) systems, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability
• Provide technical leadership and strategic guidance on CIAM processes and solutions, aligning with industry best practices to drive innovation and continuous improvement
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, product managers, and stakeholders, to integrate and optimize authentication and authorization strategies across the organization
• Establish a strong partnership with Product and Project Management, shaping a clear technical roadmap, prioritizing key initiatives, and proactively identifying and mitigating risks
• Mentor and support the professional growth of engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing, innovation, and collaboration within the team
• This position will require you to be available during core business hours and occasionally nights and weekends as required for on call support
