What the job involves

  • We’re looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer who loves solving complex problems
  • You’ll help us spearhead our effort to rearchitect our tech-stack and guide us towards a rock-solid foundation for core systems as we approach rapid scale
  • You’ll also help design, build, and iterate on product features that delight our guests, from menu personalization, to an M/L based cook-time predictor, to our self-service Kiosk ordering
  • As an early Engineer at Local Kitchens, you will have abundant growth potential as well as direct impact on shaping the future of Local Kitchens

Our take

In contrast to other delivery apps such as Deliveroo and UberEats, Local Kitchens combine the convenience of online delivery with the atmosphere and social elements of street food dining halls.

With many restaurants struggling in a highly competitive marketplace to expand their brand further afield, Local Kitchen has rapidly grown its food halls and sources its menus from handpicked local restaurants in the San Francisco Bay. Local Kitchens diverge from their hospitality-driven industry through the option of delivery and give customers the freedom to mix and match their orders from different restaurants on their foodhall sites.

The combination of on-site hospitality staffing and the gap in the market-plugging digital app aims to be a boutique service that puts the customer first. Its success so far has led to the development of a real estate sector within the company.
