Senior Accountant, Johnson Controls

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA designation preferred
• 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics)
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

• The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing general accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, preparing financial reports, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and company policies
• This role works closely with finance leadership and cross-functional teams to support business operations and financial decision-making
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports
• Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank accounts, and balance sheet accounts
• Prepare and record journal entries
• Analyze financial data and investigate variances
• Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal controls
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation
• Review accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed asset transactions for accuracy
• Maintain and improve accounting processes and procedures
• Mentor junior accounting staff and provide technical guidance
• Collaborate with departments to resolve accounting issues and improve financial reporting
