What the job involves
- Pure Storage is seeking a Strategic Accounts Account Executive to accelerate growth of the Portworx platform across Strategic Telco accounts in EMEA. You will own a small number of named Telco customers and prospects, build and execute multi year account plans, and drive platform adoption with a focus on business outcomes such as resilience, risk reduction, faster application delivery, and operational efficiency
- You will work closely with cross functional teams across Pure and Portworx, including Systems Engineering, Customer Experience, Marketing, Partner teams, Product, and field leadership. This is a high impact individual contributor role with a strong emphasis on strategic planning, disciplined execution, and customer intimacy
- Own and grow a portfolio of named Strategic Telco accounts, delivering against annual and multi year revenue targets
- Build and execute account plans that map buying centres, application priorities, Kubernetes roadmaps, and transformation programmes
- Develop executive relationships across CIO, CTO, CISO, Head of Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, SRE, and Application leaders
- Lead complex sales cycles from discovery through close, including security, risk, procurement, architecture review, and legal processes common in Telco

- Orchestrate account teams and partner ecosystems, including GSIs, cloud providers, and regional partners, to drive pipeline creation and deal execution
- Run a rigorous, value based sales process tailored to cloud native software, with accurate forecasting and strong hygiene in Salesforce and forecasting tools
- Partner with Customer Experience to expand adoption post sale, identify expansion triggers, and build customer advocacy within the Telco community
- Stay ahead of competitive dynamics in Kubernetes data services, backup and recovery, and container storage, using insights to sharpen strategy and messaging
- Represent Portworx in customer meetings and relevant industry events, with a field first mindset
Our take
Named one of the top 50 Hottest Edge Hardware, Software, and Services Companies of 2022, Pure Storage is a data storage company that helps tech and software businesses leverage the continuous innovations of AI and machine learning through its storage solutions. From Roblox to NASA, many of Pure Storage’s customers are leaders in their fields.
After seeing rapid revenue growth in the early 2010s despite overall losses, Pure Storage’s 2015 IPO benefitted the company over the next half-decade, spreading losses with public trade. The risk especially paid off when many companies migrated to cloud services in the 2020s.
As data centers flew into the crosshairs of sustainable energy efforts, Pure Storage has remained on the right side of publicity through its Evergreen // One portfolio, a flexible consumption-based storage model for providers. In January 2023, Pure Storage reported continued subscription growth for this model and should continue on track as its hefty and influential client list evolves to meet sustainability goals.
