Who you are
- We are a fast-paced, high-growth company seeking a motivated, data-driven, and outcome-oriented sales leader to manage and scale a team of Account Executives in a dynamic business environment
- 5+ years of experience in successfully selling a technical product (Cybersecurity, DevSecOps, OSS preferred)
- 1+ years of experience successfully managing high performing software sales teams
- Startup experience strongly preferred
- Deep knowledge of MEDDPICC framework
- Experience recruiting, retaining, and developing a team
- Enjoy coaching and motivating others, leading by example while demonstrating humility

What the job involves
- As the Manager of Commercial Sales, you will lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team focused on acquiring new customers, building pipeline, and accelerating overall sales growth
- You will play a pivotal role in shaping sales processes, recruiting and developing top talent, and delivering measurable results
- Reporting directly to the Director of Commercial Sales, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of sales strategies, pipeline development, and sales initiatives
- Report directly to the Director of Commercial Sales
- Focus heavily on territory planning and execution with a dedicated emphasis on pipeline generation
- Develop and implement sales strategies that focus on both short-term revenue goals and long-term pipeline development and work cross-functionally with other teams, like marketing, to align messaging & campaigns for maximum impact on pipeline growth
- Build and maintain a strong talent pipeline for current and future needs and be heavily involved in recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding new reps
- Foster a collaborative environment where account executives on your team can learn, grow, and seek professional growth under your leadership
- Build and improve processes for team member on-boarding and ramping
- Drive alignment with supporting teams across customer success, marketing, solutions architects, and professional services
Our take
Developers rely on open source code and apps in their day to day work, but when the provenance of the code is unknown this creates potential weaknesses that cybercriminals can exploit. Chainguard exists to build security into the coding supply chain by making it possible for companies to enforce security policies based on auditable signatures baked into the code.
In the wake of huge cyber attacks, software supply chain security has been an area of major focus. However, most of this has surrounded the scanning and detection of threats. Chainguard's approach comes from the other end of the process, focusing on building security into the software itself.
Built by former engineers who are aware of developer workloads, Chainguard is designed to be easily installed and integrated into existing automation systems. The company has secured substantial funding, the latest of which will support more aggressive product and R&D spending as it looks to further boost sales.
