3 Billion Pairs' mission is to empower users to understand their stories, genetics, and health on their own terms. Its service allows its members to receive early diagnoses, take actionable insight on preventable illnesses, and explore their 'omics' information to explore their identities.
The human genome contains over 3 billion base pairs, encoding millions of years of evolution and vast amounts of information. It contains insights into health predispositions, identity insights, and more, but to most people this data is inaccessible.
3 Billion Pairs is challenging this by giving users the ability to discover more about themselves, understanding their health and history more deeply. It also gives access to an online community of interested people, and allows them to share and link data to its online platform. It does this all with a fundamental focus on data security, so that users are always completely in control of their information, helping people understand themselves better with full peace of mind.
The genetic testing market is expected to grow by $5.39 billion by 2025. In particular, direct-to-consumer products are gaining momentum as individuals increasingly looking to understand how they may be predisposed to certain diseases, a trend which 3 Billion Pairs aims to capitalise.
