To catalyze the community-driven data ecosystem that helps developers build a more open and vibrant web.
A major difficulty within the Web 3.0 space is that transferring centralized data into a decentralized space can be complex and time-consuming. Plus, many Web 3.0 services and apps are still built upon Web 2.0 platforms and services. 3Box Labs has created a developer platform called Ceramics that can break data out of centralized services and make it composable within the Web 3.0 space, thus taking a step away from formerly vital yet archaic developer tools.
Data models applied to the Ceramics platform are universally composable and reusable across Web 3.0 applications. 3Box Labs allows developers to share, exchange, and use data and metadata, as well as virtual items in video games, and many other virtual commodities transferred from traditional web builds.
3Box Lab’s platform is used by thousands of developers and has been the foundation of hundreds of Web 3.0 apps and services so far. Its funding from 2022 accelerated the launch of Ceramics and allowed it to become one of the leading platforms untethering Web 3.0 from its predecessor.
