Our take

Today, over 80% of value in modern businesses is represented by intangibles, yet globally more than $1 trillion of them are underexploited. Assets require significant legal and financial training to handle appropriately as their complexities require expensive services from professional firms.

Abaton is a fintech startup building a platform that will empower businesses to unlock the value of their intangible assets. In deploying an intelligent "Expert System" within the platform, Abaton is providing support that would usually require the assistance of external consultants and lawyers. In turn, clients are given a clearer picture of their assets and how best to manage them.

While the company is still in its early stages, it was selected as 1 of 12 participants in the Forward Partners Funding Lab in 2022 and secured a £120k Smart Grant from Innovate UK. With free trials expected to launch for a select few companies in early 2023, Abaton is set for a promising future.
