Our take
The global warming crisis requires urgent mitigation globally, but most communities around the world do not have the tools to monitor emissions at a granular level. Furthermore, current air quality monitoring technology is often expensive, subsidized by the government, and lacking in detail.
Aclima provides a platform that facilitates hyperlocal measurement of air pollutants through a mobile network of sensory vehicles. The start-up has partnered their technology with Google's Street View, providing sensory instrumentation to the cars resulting in a block-by-block view of air pollution.
Aclima’s strategy is unique in its approach to pollution measurement by providing a global solution to granular pollution measurement. This allows for monitoring technology to be accessible, localized, and more affordable across the world.
