To help farmers transition to regenerative practices and companies achieve sustainability goals.
203% employee growth in 12 months
Farming is responsible for up to a quarter of global greenhouse emissions, but things are changing. Farmers are increasingly incentivised to apply more environmentally friendly regenerative techniques, and Agreena has stepped into this space to assist.
After its founding Agreena moved swiftly to secure seed investment and enter the European soil carbon market. Though its not the only startup in this space, with competitors such as Soil Capital, and further afield the US startups Indigo and Nori. However Agreena believes it has an advantage in the vertical integration of its carbon platform, which includes farmer registration, monitoring and verification, and minting of CO2 certificates which can be sold and monitored inside or independently of Agreena's marketplace.
Following its 2022 fund raise, Agreena acquired Hummingbird Technologies, adding their machine learning monitoring capabilities to Agreena's offering. Just a year later it added €46 to its total funding, a sure sign of confidence in the future trajectory of the company.
