To make airspace intelligence available to everyone and help ensure regional and national airspace authorities operate safely and efficiently.
As drone technology has advanced, AirMap’s mapping and management of the air space has become increasingly important. Its Unmanned Aircraft System Traffic Management (UTM), which acts as air traffic control for low altitude airspace, enables drones to fly safely by monitoring weather, traffic, flight restrictions and airspace regulations, and plans safe routes in real time.
Despite competition from companies such as Unifly and Airspace Link, AirMap has found space in the market to scale. The number of drones in the sky is set to rapidly increase in coming years - as businesses and governments begin to use drones for security, deliveries, and observation - which offers a great opportunity for AirMap to deliver services to more and more clients.
AirMap's products are used in numerous countries across North America, Europe, Southeast Asia, and Australia. The company was acquired by aviation technology provider DroneUp, which will employ its technologies towards solving the industry's "main hurdles", and allow AirMap to expand and remain openly available, forming a crucial part of the future uniform safety of drone operations.
