Airspeed is on a mission to help employees feel connected and celebrated.
In this new remote-working world, void of gossip around the water-cooler, Airspeed aims to better connect professionals with their colleagues through a shared social app. Originally born out of the pandemic, the company was created to combat the ‘digital disconnect’ from remote working that can serve as a leading cause of unproductivity, burnout and therefore dissatisfaction amongst employees.
Whilst LinkedIn exists to allow for professional connections, Airspeed encourages more personal, fun, and casual interactions that you would otherwise have in an office environment - as it believes that a connected team is a better team. In 2023 it launched "Coffee Talk", an AI-powered app that connects colleagues for meaningful virtual coffee meetups.
The company has raised considerable funds that will be used to expand operations and its business reach. With many other players in the market looking to address the need to reconnect remote employees, it will be interesting to see whether the company can establish itself in this crowded sector with its social media-based approach.
