To become the universal healthcare provider for the Black community.
After former Pittsburgh Steelers champion Ryan Mundy’s American Football career ended he realised, despite his understanding of physical wellbeing, he was still suffering from mental health problems such as anxiety. He discovered that only 9.8% of Black American males were receiving mental health treatment in 2019, 10% lower than white American males, so he founded Alkeme.
Pronounced “Alchemy'', Alkeme is a digital platform that provides online and digital meditation sessions, talks, and strategies for Balck Americans who want to improve their mental health. Founded in 2020, Alkeme already has hundreds of contributing experts and tens of thousands of users. For a monthly subscription, Alkeme’s platform aims to provide expert strategies for a variety of mental health problems and a user-friendly interface that’s easy to navigate.
With Mundy’s star power, he aims to double Alkeme’s subscriptions as well as his funding, with millions of dollars already invested in his platform. Alkeme is carving a niche in the well-being market that has long gone underserved and underfunded.
