Our take

There is a gap in the number of people who have protective insurance in the UK; only half of people with mortgages have a life insurance policy in place. Traditionally these insurance policies have been targeted at those with high levels of wealth, and recommended by financial advisers. There is no online platform that provides personalised advice, and Anorak aims to fill this space by acting as an independent broker.

The company believes that protective insurance likely requires an omnichannel approach. A customer should be able to start online and speak to an advisor offline. Anorak educates people on matters regarding insurance and focus on the right cover for each person. Its personalisation and focus on the customer is what sets it apart.

Anorak ultimately wants to make financial advice easy and accessible for everyone. It continues to invest into its platform to ensure that it is optimised to provide this service.
