Company mission

To make mobile gaming and playing a more fun, interactive, and social experience.

Our take

Mobile gaming is a large and very competitive market, with app sales platforms such as Apple and Google taking large percentage of game profits – often to the frustration of developers. Artie has developed a platform that allows mobile games to be played directly in a browser without the need to download an app, bypassing third parties. It's a bold move, but has the potential to completely change the distribution of mobile games.

Artie isn’t the only company focusing on mobile gaming outside of the app framework, there are some other contenders in the market such as Playco, but Artie is the only app-less gaming company to support Unity bringing the opportunity to create more in-depth games. Initially set up to make augmented reality avatars, Artie has changed tack and moved the business in a new direction.

As well as offering their system to other games developers, the Artie team also develops their own games. These are currently free to play and monetized via in-game purchases – and include a Alice in Wonderland game, a beer pong game and more.
